Linish and Painted Finish Memorial Plaque

In 2015, Di Emme created an eternal flame memorial for the western façade of Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL. The eight metre aluminium sculptural artwork is a striking Canterbury Road landmark. The original intention was for the flame to sit atop a permanent plaque inscribed, ‘THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE”; biblical text that has been widely inscribed on war memorials since the First World War. The RSL commissioned Di Emme to produce the bespoke metal signage for the 2020 Anzac Day commemoration.

The plaque is fashioned from Alucabond® with a custom hand painted rust finish, linished inset laser cut lettering, and LED back lighting around the perimeter.

While Australians were forced to commemorate Anzac Day 2020 from their homes, the eternal flame memorial provided a solemn backdrop for the Club’s Lighting-Up-the-Dawn rendition of The Last Post.
