Subtle Painted Backdrop at Recast 580 George St

Paul Kelly Design (PKD) was commissioned to recast the main lobby space of the HSBC Centre at 580 George St Sydney, to provide integrated café, work, catch-up and meeting areas.

With the natural Australian landscape as their inspiration, PKD engaged Di Emme to create a subtle mountain vista on the existing timber battens. The panorama was hand painted on site using subtle gradations of Japan black lacquer, allowing the warm timber tones to glow through.
