Look Up! Custom Ceiling Features

Ceiling features can offer many benefits like concealing unsightly services, creating intimacy and cohesion, or providing interesting focal points. Di Emme are experts in creating custom ceiling features that meet the brief in aesthetics and engineering.

FDC Constructions provided the fitout for the new Booktopia headquarters in Rhodes. With books being the core of the business, crisp white bookshelves feature in the design. FDC commissioned Di Emme to continue the bookshelf motif as a sculptural element across the ceiling at the main entrance. From concept sketches, Di Emme produced drawings to create an interesting curve design and a perfect fit.

Di Emme devised a unique installation method, creating channels for the custom joinery to slide into. The entire unit has blind fixings to create a seamless look.

Architecture and design firm, Projects TT, commissioned Di Emme to manufacture and install a decorative ceiling feature in the Maroubra Seals Club function room. The feature is made from laser cut panels with a hand-applied metal patina finish. The panels were constructed with a double-fold to enable them to be lifted and lowered into position in a frame suspended from the ceiling.
